Wood boring insects

Wood Boring insect infestations are becoming more prevalent and well established as the inability to tackle them with solvents and chemicals becomes less acceptable due to environmental issues and ongoing changes to legislation.

Being able to kill adult insects is one thing, but being able to halt the regeneration cycle of the larvae and eggs laid deep within the heart of a substantial timber frames is a completely different problem.

Thermal Disinfection is now a recognised and fully accredited process for ISPM 15 treatments. Revival Environmental Ltd. have now adapted this same process to meet the needs and temperatures required to tackle well established Death Watch and Wood Worm infestations established deep within structures of timber framed buildings.

This process requires careful monitoring of both temperature and humidity within the structure and framework of the building. Recent trials have proven that by attaining and maintaining a temperature of 56°C within the central core of affected timbers for a minimum period of 1 hour, will terminate infestations that have been established over many years.
