The building industry experiences many problems during the general course of a construction project, particularly when it comes to trying to judge the weather and manage the completion of contracts within stringent time frames.
Inclement weather will always slow things down particularly when it comes to drying, with the last few summers being particularly wet creating prolonged periods of slow progress, construction teams have to get on the best way they can.
As is always the case, conditions that are seemingly bad for one element will invariably create an opportunity for another to flourish, and in more recent times the sightings of Plaster Beetle have become more noticeable and prolific in numbers.
Plaster Beetle are a very small black or brown beetle generally found within newly built or reconditioned properties, and they thrive in the damp conditions that prevail because the property has not been dried out properly or is still in the process of drying out.
They feed on the moulds and mildews that form on newly plastered areas created by the damp conditions, and although not harmful to Humans they can sometime infest food stuffs and home contents and fabrics that have also become mildewed.
However, in general as the property dries out the Plaster Beetle will disappear, as they can only survive and thrive in damp conditions, however, if the drying process becomes prolonged their presence within newly occupied properties can become a very emotive issue with new home owners.
With the use of The Entotherm Process, excess moisture can be quickly exhausted from the property and by continuing to increase the ambient temperature within to around 45°C this factor will also eradicate the Beetle population.
